IBM SPSS Amos

IBM® SPSS® Amos is a powerful structural equation modeling (SEM) software helping support your research and theories by extending standard multivariate analysis methods, including regression, factor analysis, correlation and analysis of variance. Build attitudinal and behavioral models reflecting complex relationships more accurately than with standard multivariate statistics techniques using either an intuitive graphical or programmatic user interface. Amos is included in the Premium edition of SPSS Statistics (except in Campus Edition, where it is sold separately). You can also buy Amos as part of the Base, Standard and Professional editions of SPSS Statistics, or separately as a stand-alone application. For Windows only.

 

  1. Access this link.
  2. Authenticate using Iscte credentials (eg., xxnes@iscte-iul.pt and password).



  3. Select the version of IBM SPSS Statistics to install (4). As a rule, the latest version.
  4. Click “Download” (5). In this example, a compressed folder with the designation “AMOS_26.zip” (6) will be generated.

 

After downloading IBM SPSS Amos, proceed according to the following steps.

    1. Double-click on the compressed folder with the designation “AMOS_26.zip” (6) and select “Extract” (7) and then “Extract all” (8).



    2. Select the location of the destination folder by clicking “Browse” (9) and clicking “Extract” (10).


    3. Open the “AMOS_26” folder and run the “setup” file.

       



    4. Click “Yes” under “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?“.
    5. Validate the installation options according to the following sequence:
    6. Select “Next“.



    7. Under “License Agreement“, mark “I accept the terms in the license agreement” and click “Next“;



    8. Under “Destination Folder“, click “Next“.



    9. Under “Ready to Install the Program“, click “Install“.



      Wait for the end of the installation process…



    10. Uncheck the checkbox “Start IBM SPSS Amos 26 now” and click “Finish“.

 

 

  1. Go to https://iajuda.iscte-iul.pt/.
  2. Authenticate using the SIIC credentials (e.g. xxnes@iscte-iul.pt and its password). 
  3. Select the option “New Request“.
  4. Choose the category “Aplicações/SPSS e Amos” and then Create Request in “Requisição de Licença Amos“. 
  5. Fill in the questionnaire indicating the version you want (for example, IBM SPSS Statistics, version 29).
  6. Within 48 working hours the respective license will be sent.
    1. Run the application “IBM SPSS Amos 26 License Authorization Wizard” as administrator.
    2. Click “Yes” under “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?“.
    3. Select “Next“.



    4. Select the 1st option “Authorized user license…” and then “Next“.



    5. Enter the code provided by SIIC (IT services) in the “Enter Code” field and click “Next“.



    6. Select “Next” to check licensing.



      Contact the SIIC in case you get an activation result other than the one shown in the figure above.
    7. Select “Finish” to complete activation.

 

 

Issue: I want to install “IBM SPSS Amos” on a MacOS X.

Resolution: There is no version of “IBM SPSS Amos” for MacOS X.
